Stronger Communities
Orléans East-Cumberland Ward is ready for new energy and new leadership. For too long our local priorities have taken a back seat at City Hall. It’s time to build stronger, more resilient communities with better local transit, public spaces and safer streets and neighbourhoods.
My husband and I chose to live and raise our son in Orléans, a vibrant, bilingual community that we are proud to call home. I understand what our community needs to thrive and I believe our quality of life is worth protecting.
Orléans has one of the highest transit riderships in the city, but there continues to be a disconnect between our need for strong, local transit and what we are getting instead. For our communities and our city to be prosperous, to grow and be vibrant, strong, local transit connecting our rural, suburban and urban areas is at the heart of that.
It’s time for Orléans East-Cumberland Ward to receive our fair share. For too long our rural and suburban communities have been left behind in funding for roads, sidewalks, parks and recreational centres. We deserve stronger representation and an independent voice to champion our local priorities at City Hall.
Our communities deserve action, accountability and affordability, because government should work as hard as the people it serves.
